Doncaster Rovers secured their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory away at Peterborough United on September 19. The result lifted the club to 21st in the League One table, where they now have six points from seven games.
Alfie May opened the scoring after 15 minutes, finishing from close range. The striker had just hours before celebrated the birth of his fourth child. Substitute Isaac Hutchinson sealed the win with a second goal in the 88th minute.
"Just hours after celebrating the birth of his fourth child, opened the scoring for Rovers after 15 minutes," said Alfie May.
The win at London Road Stadium was a repeat of the venue where Rovers ended the previous campaign with a victory, boosting morale after a difficult start. A total of 1,107 Doncaster supporters made the trip, and photographer Howard Roe captured the scenes in the away end.
"Our photographer Howard Roe was there to snap photos of the 1,107 fans that made the trip to Peterborough," said Howard Roe.
The team's recent form shows one win, one draw and three defeats from their last five matches. They will look to build on this result when they travel to face 16th-placed Luton Town on October 3.
