Doncaster Rovers defender Jack Senior has signed a new two-year contract following the conclusion of the League One season. The 29-year-old had previously agreed to a 12-month extension in March last year, but this new deal will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2027-28 season. Senior was one of only two players offered new contracts after the club made the decision to release seven players, including the veteran striker Billy Sharp, who is 40 years old. Senior has made a significant contribution to the team, with 103 appearances for Rovers, including 37 in the league this past season. The club finished in 14th place, comfortably 11 points clear of the relegation zone after winning the League Two title the previous season. Expressing his contentment, Senior stated that it was an easy decision to stay, emphasizing his happiness and sense of belonging at the club. He noted that despite initial uncertainties about playing at this level, he gained confidence as the season progressed.
